The d2h Smart Remote is a mobile app that allows you to connect your Videocon d2h Set Top Box to your smartphone using Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, or IR (Infra Red) technology. This app provides various functionalities:

• Convert your smartphone into a remote control to change channels and adjust volume levels.
• Quick zap mode allows you to browse channel logos by genre and switch channels with a simple tap on the logo.
• Browse the program guide for each channel by pressing and holding a channel logo in the quick zap mode.
• Voice-based search functionality allows you to search for programs and videos by speaking out the search criteria. The app searches within the program guide as well as the video collection available for mobile casting.
• Casting media from your mobile device to the STB is possible when connected through Wi-Fi. You can play videos from mobile video apps like YouTube or share audio/video/images stored locally on your phone.
• Receive mobile notifications on your TV when connected through Bluetooth. You will receive notifications for Facebook updates, missed calls, new messages, and more. To view details, simply press the yellow button on the d2h STB remote.
• Stream audio from your smartphone to the TV speakers when connected through Bluetooth. You can also listen to d2h STB audio privately by plugging in headphones into your mobile device.
• Post about the program you are watching on live TV on your Facebook timeline through the social networking feature.
• Locate your misplaced smartphone within your home when connected to the d2h STB through the d2h Smart Remote App. Simply press Menu on the d2h STB remote and select Connectivity > Find my Phone option.

Important points to note:

• The d2h Smart Remote App is exclusive to Videocon d2h users.
• While the app supports basic remote functions through IR, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connectivity, certain features require either Bluetooth or Wi-Fi and are only available on select models of Videocon d2h STBs.
• Bluetooth connectivity is only possible on certain d2h STB models with the help of a d2h Bluetooth Dongle accessory. To enable connectivity and app functionality, users need to purchase the dongle and upgrade the d2h STB software by contacting customer care.
• Bluetooth connectivity requires the use of a USB hub where both the d2h Bluetooth Dongle and USB storage for shared content need to be connected. The USB hub is not sold by Videocon d2h and needs to be purchased separately.
• The recommended USB hub is HUB iball 4 Port Piano 44.
• The application is free to use but data charges may apply for downloading the app from the Google Play Store.
